Der Weißschwanz-Preußenfisch lebt sesshaft auf verästelten Steinkorallen welche seinem Schwarm und Nachkommen Schutz bieten. Brutpflege: Die Eier werden vom Weibchen auf die Koralle geklebt, das Männchen verteidigt das Gelege und fächert den Eiern frisches Wasser zu bis die Larven schlüpfen.

This dascyllus will always stay at the same coral that provides shelter for the swarm and offspring. The female sticks her fertilized eggs to the coral and the male will never leave that spot: protecting and aerating the eggs with his fins until the larvae hatch.
