Dieser Rochen ist auf der roten Liste und eingestuft als potentiell gefährdete Art. In Hong Kong findet man ihn selten, nur jetzt zur Paarungszeit könnte man ihn mit Glück antreffen.
The butterfly ray is near threatened elasmobranch species and can be rarely found in Hong Kong. Now during breeding season it is possible to encounter them occasionally.
